Opera Mini takes advantage of the iPad’s larger screen to show a full toolbar with navigation control and options. Multiple tabs are displayed as visual thumbnails in one of the pop out menus, allowing you to quickly switch between open pages.
Opera’s trademark speed Dial launch screen lets you get to your favorite sites quickly, and you can sync these across desktop, mobile and tablet versions. One of Opera Mini’s key features is the way it routes web requests through its own compression servers, making pages appear to load faster as well as saving you money if you’re on a 3G or limited access plan. The only problem is that many websites detect it as a mobile browser, and display their limited mobile sites by default.
